About Me

Top

My mother always told me to fall in love with my skincare routine and stick to it because I’d thank it later in life. I never really fell in love with it until now. I have a combination of dry skin and oily skin and I only found this out about a month ago because I could’ve sworn I had dry skin. My chin and forehead seem to breakout more easily and my skin gets flaky all around when I wear make up but mostly around my t-zone. I looked for reviews and skincare routines everywhere but I couldn’t seem to find a genuine blog post that was not sponsored by a product. After 3 months of product searching and hoarding Sephora samples I’ve composed the skin care routine that has drastically changed my skin.

I don’t wear much make up. My eyebrows, eyelashes and lips are the only spots that need to be pampered however, during my breakouts I felt as if I couldn’t go a day without wearing foundation and powder. It was terrible.

I am now about a month into my skincare routine and I cannot tell you how much my skin has cleared up! I had a ton of subtle but vicious whiteheads and blackheads and acne all over my chin. It was never an issue but I guess things change a little with age and ever-changing routines so I decided to put a stop to it and a start to a strict skincare routine and love it till death do us part.

Before I share my secrets, nonetheless, let me introduce you to Stemology who I found over on Instagram. I recently began using their overnight moisturizer and I feel my skin clearer, fuller, no longer dry, and most importantly it doesn’t make me breakout like I usually would. My mother always told me to take care of my skin at an early age and I knew I needed this as I began my process of taking the absolute best care for my skin. I fell so much in love with their products that I asked if I could host a giveaway and they agreed!

Giveaway: all you have to do is follow me DeliriumStyle and Stemology on Instagram, like my photo as soon as it goes up, and tag a friend in separate comments for extra entries! Now without further ado,

My 6 Step Skincare Routine

Step 1 Make-Up Remover – Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup RemoverDSC_0878-2

I used to use face wipes but I noticed it irritated my skin and it wasn’t gentle enough around my eyes and decided to just let it go except of course, in the case of serious emergencies. Example: when I drink a little too much wine.

Step 2 Gentle Cleanser – Cetaphil Facial Cleanser

Every dermatologist I’ve gone to has recommended this cleanser for me. I hated it at first until one of my doctors suggested this: Spread it all over face like lotion and then remove it with two cotton pads. It will make a difference, trust me!

Step 3 Face Wash – First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser

It may seem a little redundant to use two cleansers but it will thoroughly remove all the impurities and dirt from your skin that you’ve carried around all day! I only use my clarasonic once a week because I don’t want to irritate my skin and a konjac facial puff  twice a week. Splash my face with water 7 times. It’s a little OCD but I don’t care because it makes me feel fantastic.

Step 4 Exfoliate (1-2x per week) – Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser

Normally, I would exfoliate once a week but with this cleanser I use it as much as  2 – 3 times a week because of how gentle it is! I haven’t actually purchased it yet since I still have some left over from the sample I got from Sephora but I’m ordering it the minute it runs out and I suggest you do the same.

Step 5 Toner – Kate Somerville (mornings) and Leite de Rosas (nights)toner

This is one of the most important steps and will make the biggest difference! Use two cotton pads for each side of your face and neck. I recently started using a toner by Kate Somerville every morning but my absolute favorite is the Leite de Rosas which I use nights.  I might stick to Leite de Rosas both mornings and nights once I run out of the Kate Somerville toner because I have yet too see a difference. I’ve heard such good reviews and smells a lot better than the other one so I’ll wait it out before I decide. Leite de Rosas is a Brazilian brand which I bring back from Peru but you can find it on amazon.

Step 6 Mask (once a week) – Indian Healing Clay Mask

For the mask mix exactly 1/4 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 1/4 tablespoon of the clay mix. It will leave your skin a little red so I suggest doing it before bed. You’ll wake up with the softest skin I promise. Use a konjac facial puff to take off the mask.

Step 7 Moisturizer – Stemology Overnight Moisturizer Mask

Last but certainly not least is to moisturize! You should have a morning and nighttime moisturizer. My absolute favorite nighttime product so far is Stemology’s overnight moisturizer. I had no clue what a difference moisturizing makes until I tried out Stemology. My skin feels amazing every morning and I use it every single night! I’m not sure if you’re experienced flakiness when wearing foundation or powder but I felt so self-conscious from it. After using this I can honestly say that it’s been 3 weeks and I haven’t had this problem! And in case you’re wondering my morning moisturizer are all the samples I get from shopping beauty products online. Eventually I’ll settle down with my favorite one but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

Skincare is so important and finding the right products is key! I struggled with acne for years and was so happy when Unblemish from Rodan and Fields came into my life. Love this post and I want to try that mask! xo

This post helped me so much! I was looking for a way to upgrade my skincare routine and I liked post is because it’s for people with combination skin. Sometimes I feel like beauty gurus on youtube tend to forget about us, haha. Anyways, awesome post, I’m going to try the products and some of the products you suggested, especially the Kate Somerville and Cetaphil Facial Cleanser.

I’ve heard so many people love Cetaphil; I think I’m the only person it doesn’t work for. Le sigh. Hugs, Kait

I use two cleansers too! It’s insane though – once you start, and you see how much more it removes, you’ll never go back to just doing it once!
