I did it! I finally Rebranded my blog!!

I felt like the day would never come. I hated my old domain (Delirium Style, yuck). It was an impulsive decision. I mean, I didn’t even Google it before I picked it. What the damn hell, kat? I chose it because my favorite beer was (and still is, tbh) Delirium Tremens and because I wanted people to know I’d throw in some fashion in there.

It wasn’t until about three months later that someone (a few people actually) linked my blog to delirium-style.blogspot.com, and everything went downhill from there. I was mortified. Why, Kat, WHY would you come up with such a stupid name? And why would anyone think I’d post about that!?

I hated everything about it, but mostly, I hated SecondLife.

ALSO, no one can pronounce or spell Delirium Style. “D-e-l-whaaa? Umm, could you start over”? [insert melodramatic eye-roll here.]

Why I Rebranded my Blog

I had absolutely no objective, no goal, no expectations of what I wanted my blog to be. I was all over the place, a bit Katy Perry, as some might call it. I genuinely thought I was writing the best posts on the internet (I wasn’t. Going through 200+ cringy-poorly-written blog posts confirms it). And so the number one thing I wanted was to establish my mission statement, vision, and values before I launched.

A reminder of what my drive and purpose are for this blog. You can read all about me and my blog over here

The Reason Behind Yeah Ok Ciao!

I tried to come up with a name for nearly a year, maybe more. I almost went with my name, Kat Maurtua, but then I remembered, no one can pronounce (or spell) my last name either.

I wanted something fun, quirky, and a bit representative of me.

Nik always found it cute that whenever I speak Spanish to family, friends, or whomever, I always end the conversation with, “Yeah Ok Ciao.”

He jokingly suggested I change it to that. I thought he was messing around, so I said no.

But the more I thought about it, the more we thought I should do it. It just stuck. It’s fun, a bit quirky, and the words are pretty much second nature to me. And so I GOOGLED THE NAME, bought the domain, and created an account on IG so no one would take the name before I switched over.

End of story.

So what’s new around here, you ask?

  • More travel-related content and a Destinations Page
  • More blog posts on sustainable fashion
  • I’m limiting my sponsored content on brands I work with and genuinely want to share with all of you.
  • I’m updated my blogging sesource category since it’s some of the most popular questions I always get
  • More outfit posts
  • A shopping section
  • And that’s all I can think of for now.

I’ll share my rebranded blog process for those who are thinking about rebranding, but in the meantime feel free to comment below with any topics you’d like me to cover or post more of!
