who what wear collection

The sunny skies are finally here. Pinterest is flooded with color and the streets are filled with frilly frocks and bright colored tops. I decided that this season I’d make an effort to spice up my wardrobe with color. I want to pass by people and have them think something along the lines of, “That girl looks like she really has her life together and that’s probably because she looks oh so classy in that outfit.”

You might be thinking, I don’t have money to give my wardrobe a upgrade, kat. Well I don’t either. I went into Bloomingdale’s the other day and wanted to buy almost everything there but truthfully my budget is not there right now. It might seem like I should since I’m a fashion blogger and should be making some sort of living from it by now. Alas, I don’t. I have other expenses and savings I’m working on so buying expensive tops and too many shoes is not on my list of things to do.

So I got in my car and left. I went to Target. The Who What Wear collection makes my heart swoon. Not only because their pieces look like something fashion editors are wearing on a daily but also because my wallet has developed a very strong relationship with their under $50 price tags.

4 Budget Friendly Spring Wardrobe Tips

There are a few things to take note before shopping for the new season.

Add color and texture

ruffles, florals, lace, blush hues. If you want to be on trend this spring, you really have to consider these before making a purchase.

Buy something you can pair with everything in your closet

I chose 3 tops and a skirt that I knew could be paired with almost anything in my closet. Staple pieces. Make them your bitch.

Buy something that will make a statement

This skirt, obviously. Screams out “this girl’s got her shit together”, doesn’t it?

Don’t buy anything you’re unsure of or doesn’t fit they way you expect it to

Don’t fucking settle. I do this all the time. I buy something that is on trend and it actually doesn’t fit my body type so I try to force myself to wear it thinking I’ll eventually like it. Just don’t do it. You and your wallet will be much better off.

I know this seems a little obvious but I tried over 20 items and I only walked out with 4. They are things that checked off the four above and I turned down all the rest even though I loved them and thought I could “make it work”. I’ve realized that all the things I thought I could “make work” ended up being donated or posted on Poshmark. Save your money and make a visit to Target or Nordstrom Rack rather than heading to the mall. Take a look at my updated boutique for spring. There are a ton of budget friendly pieces on there.
