It’s that wonderful time of year again! Like most, Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. The holiday cheer, the family gatherings, the beautifully decorated streets, and parties are like a drink that I want to keep on coming.

Of course, if your year has been financially rough or you’ve shopped more in a year than you have in a lifetime, the holidays can become a little unnerving.

Last year we held three holiday parties: one with my family, my brother-in-law’s family and another with our friends. For all three, we spread the idea that we shouldn’t buy gifts and play White Elephant instead. Personally, I hate Secret Santa because if you pick someone you don’t know very well they may not like your gift or find it inappropriate and it becomes too stressful to find something just for them.

White Elephant however, is one of the funnest and intense christmas gifting ideas. Not to mention, buying the gift is fun since it’s gender neutral and you pick something out that everyone will want to steal (yourself included)!

Tip: don’t buy drinking games. They’re lame and everyone agrees.
