Interview basics
What should you wear to a job/internship interview
I’m sure you don’t think what you wear to an interview is something you should worry too much about as, say, what you are actually going to say during that interview but trust me that godforsaken night before the big day, it will seem like the biggest issue in the world.
I’m not sure if you are familiar with the scene where Dumbo is dressed like a baby and all the clowns are trying to get him down from a burning building and looks like death is upon him. Well, that is what I feel like almost everyday of my life, not to mention on days I have to actually do something important like not watching old Disney movies or having to go to an interview. For those pivotal moments, it’s important to wear something professional and not feel like a man, because if you’re a girl, dressing like a man in a suit will not make you any less nervous than Dumbo. Trust me.
Pants, blazer, a blouse, nice heels, a fancy purse and some classy pearls. Ann Taylor and Loft have beautiful blouses and pants and if you’re petite and have never been there, it is like wearing glasses for the very first time. You probably didn’t even know you needed them until you tried them on. Ted baker has the most beautiful blazers and the inner lining is to die for. Shoes should be classy peep toe or pointed heels (you might as well not show up if you think about wearing any stilettos, sandals, or sneakers) and if going to wear makeup, try not to look like you’re attending a cheerleading championship. And lastly, don’t be a weirdo.
