DSC_0639 Although it was about 8 years that I lived through the 90’s they were probably the best years to live in. Except they weren’t. I was bullied and kids are mean. I also didn’t speak a word of English. Times were tough. Oddly enough a bit of nostalgia arises as I look back at all the good times, how phenomenal cartoons and movies used to be, and how the style of the 90’s has recycled into the 2000’s. I’m not sure whether it’s because I’ve watched too many episodes of friends or because my DIY lunchbox purse has become a regular piece to my everyday wardrobe, but I’ve decided to write a piece on the 90’s trend.

Back when the Macarena had been so elegantly introduced, O.J Simpson ruled the news, and smash bracelets were all the rage, the 90’s truly did a number on us. More specifically, the 90’s has inevitably forced us to hold a nostalgic view on the way we look back upon fashion. How can we forget the mini skirts and patterned shirts, the excessive layers, the inconceivable crop tops and those plaid infested wardrobes? Oh the grunge, the fresh prince’s and Winona Ryder’s of the world, the clueless inspired wardrobe, don’t you ever disappear because we need you to recycle from now until eternity.

How can you bring back the 90’s? It’s simple. You’ll need:

  • A choker
  • a mini skirt
  • a crop top
  • denim or plaid
  • a grungy colorwheel
  • or you can go entirely the opposite and mix and match every possible piece with all the patterns and colors in the world.
