Australia

A Little Bit About The Place

Oh, the land down under! In case you didn’t know, Australia is huge! I can’t begin to explain how much there is to see. You’ll need months to explore all of Aussie. Everything about this place is breathtaking. The amount of nature and wildlife is unreal. You’ll meet some of the most interesting and genuine people, even more so if you’re flying solo.

Ready to dive with some sharks, hug koalas, or feed some kangaroos? It’s totally worth the million-hour flight over.

Things to Know Before You Travel

Plan Ahead. Australia is massive. It’s like traveling in the US. You won’t be able to visit all of Australia’s most popular destinations unless you’re planning on staying a few months. The flights are quite long (and expensive) if you plan on visiting different territories.

Safety. Australia is one of the safest countries in the world! The crime rate is incredibly low. However, watch out for flora + fauna. They’re known for their poisonous spiders, great whites, as well as snakes and sea creatures.

Heads up. The plugs in Australia are Type I, and the voltage is 230v. Make sure to pick up an adapter before your trip!

Best Time to Travel. It all depends on where you want to go.

  • East Coast (Cairns down to Melbourne). The best times are during the summer months: December through February. However, the weather is pretty nice all year long, and you can avoid all the crowds during the off-season (May through August).
  • Western Australia. Autumn. March through May
  • Northern Territories. May through October
  • South Australia. September through November

Suggested daily budget – 60-80 AUD / 40-55 USD (Note: This is only a suggested budget. This is the typical budget for travelers staying in a hostel, choosing budget-friendly meals, cooking most meals, and using public transportation. However, if you are staying at hotels or AirBnbs, eat out more often, and booking several group tours, you should expect this number to rise to about 120-160 AUD/ 80-110 USD
