About Me

Top

Today on Delirium Style I want to share with you one of my favorite bags. As you all know, I went on a mini vacation to NYC last week. It was completely last minute and I had only one, unbelievably hectic, day to pack. I took what I thought was most essential, what was not but wanted anyway, and a little extra just in case. But what I want to talk about with you today is how this tiny brown backpack from Nine West saved me from misery last week. This empowering little backpack also lured me into an addictive path of obsessing over little backs that hang from your back.

I am not exaggerating (maybe a little) but I am eternally grateful for this backpack and I will continue to obsess over it until my dieing breath. I rummaged through my closet for hours, tossed around every purse I owned, and debated whether I should run to the mall to buy a new one. I was on the verge of giving up until I remembered that I had a secret stash of bags in one of the many closets in my house. I grabbed my maroon Dooney and Bourke purse that I would obviously use as my carry-on purse and a brown-leather, nine west backpack I subtly took from my mom’s closet too many years ago.

It was small but not too small; it wasn’t too heavy or too big to carry around the city and ride down the subway; it was conveniently large (or suitably small) enough to fit my camera, my water, an umbrella, my wallet, and too many other necessities! It was essentially, as Goldilocks would say, just right. Mary Poppins would be proud.

My boyfriend and I tried to get all the touristy stuff out of the way the first day so we could walk around the city, get lost, eat, and bar hop. The first bar we went to was McGee’s (the actual bar that How I Met Your Mother was based on). If you have never watched How I Met Your Mother, you need to shut off your computer and turn on Netflix because are missing out on possibly one of the greatest tv shows you will ever watch.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to NY and found a stylish bag that seems to have worked really well. I visit NYC all the time, as I have a daughter living there, and just love getting ‘lost’ on the streets as you find the best places that way.

I went to NYC for less than 4 days once, and it definitely was not enough! I NEED to go back soon! Glad to see you had fun!
