3 Fashionable Ways To Wear A Slip Dress
WARNING: high levels of champagne were (and are) being consumed.
What is love? I used to ask myself this after every disney princess movie I watched when I was a kid. Although now I know every single one of those movies is a lie. And similar to those overly romantic and slightly sexist movies, the word love is thrown around too often and too quickly.
But I don’t really give a damn because if love looks anything like the affordable Who What Wear collection at Target than I think I’ve understood what love really means and I’ll continue to whisper and flaunt that word around to every single piece of clothing I own.
After several glasses of champagne and too many romanticized hours of film, it wasn’t very hard to find the self-empowering and self-infatuated crush I have for the things I wear. As the tears filled my eyes while I watched Julia Roberts get brutally burned by those bitchy saleswomen, I felt a bit of familiarity by all the wonderful things I want in life but just can’t have. Sometimes, life is a bitch slap in the fucking face. And yeah it hurts. But you just need to get the fuck over it. As badly as I want a pair of Sophia Webster heels or a Louie Vuitton Purse my bank account strongly disagrees.
Thus, I’ve been pacing myself and only purchasing items that I totally dig which means they’re a little pricier than what I’d usually pay because 1. I’ve refused to ever step into forever 21 again unless it’s to buy cheap accessories and 2. I’m investing in essential and non-impulsive pieces to sign a long-term contract with my closet.
As soon as I brought this Who What Wear slip dress home with me, I spent hours trying it on and pairing it to endless shoes, belts, shirts, and bags until I figured which way I liked best. I caressed it very much so, creepily pressed it against my face, and passionately sniffed it, not only because of my love for my brand new dress but also because I had just finished an entire bottle of wine to myself. However, my drunken realization of indecisiveness made me realize that I don’t have to choose a favorite because life is not dictated by some bitchy saleswoman.
Nope.
Here are my three fashion tops to get the most out of your new dress and look as effortlessly and chic as any fashionista would
A T-Shirt That Goes Under
Exhibit A: As most of you’ve seen, the 90’s are back and wearing a tshirt can make any outfit look hip as hell and cute at the same time.
wearing: Vintage Dooney and Bourke crossbody, Who What Wear slip dress, Hollister crop top (old – similar here)
A Blouse That Goes Over
Exhibit B: Wearing a button up around your waist is one of the many, many fashionable results of the power of layering. And Yes, it’s possible in the summertime.
Wearing Ann Taylor Blouse, Who What Wear slip dress, Hat from Italy (unknown – similar here), Vintage Valentino crossbody (similar here), Vintage Michael Kors heels (similar here)
A Belt Around Your Neck
Exhibit C: Have you seen the skinny scarfs trending all over the place? I decided to make this my official date night look for dinner and a movie.
Wearing: Vintage Clutch, Coach shoes (old – similar here), Who What Wear slip dress

Love this idea and how you styled each look! This is perfect because I’m hesitant with buying slips bc I feared I wouldn’t get too much use out of them.
